2003 South Top Prospect Showcase
Mickits is a solid left-hander with a good strong frame right now and the body type that projects plenty more down the road. He pitched well in Waco and showed an average Major League arm from the outfield as well. He threw with 86 mph velocity from right field with excellent carry on the ball. He has a smooth arm action and long extension out front. On the hill he showed an 81-83 mph fastball and a good 65-67 mph curve. His curve was thrown in any count and he showed comand of that pitch. He mixed his speeds well and proved that he can pitch. He swung the bat well too, with quick hands and getting the bat head out front nicely. He is a very good follow for the 2005 class. Tyler is a good student.
