Tyson Workman is a 2008 SS/3B/2B/P with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends North Florida Christian HS. He has a young, athletic build with lots of strength projection. Workman is a polished middle infielder with smooth actions and very good body control. He reads the ball well and is instinctive and plays easy. He has a good strong accurate arm. Workman's raw tool in terms of running speed isn't MLB plus, but his playability is. Offensively, Workman hits from open and calm set up and uses his hands well to hit through the ball. He has very good weight transfer through the ball and hits hard line drives to the middle of the field. He looks like he can handle any fastball. Workman looks like a very polished hitter/player who should keep developing as he gets older and into the next level. Workman is also a good student.

Tyson Workman is a 2008 IF/RHP with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Tallahassee FL, who attends North Florida Christian HS. He has an angular, high waisted frame and good developing strength. Workman is a quality two-way prospect who was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. Right now we have him as a better pitching prospect but it could go either way. On the mound, Workman has a loose, very quick arm action and high 3/4's release point. His athleticism gives him the ability to repeat his delivery and maintain good extension out front on his pitches. Workman's fastball topped out at 90 mph and he was aggressive in the strike zone with it. His fastball had late explosive live to it occasionally. Workman's best pitch was a nasty 81 mph slider that had power downer action and is a strikeout pitch at the next level. As a middle infielder, Workman has smooth actions and good range. He has a short, quick release that hides his natural arm strength but he gets rid of the ball quickly. At the plate, Workman has quick, strong hands and an aggressive line drive swing. He hits the ball hard to all fields and does a very good job of staying short and compact to the ball. He'll have some nice gap to gap power down the road. Workman is a top level national follow on both sides of the ball and should be followed very closely.
