Woytek is a strong and mature 5-11, 190 lb senior catcher from Texas who has plenty of experience at the higher levels of baseball and has a polished approach to the game. He's got stronger during the last year and this has helped his game, especially on offense. Woytek's defense is what will enable him to play at the college level, though. He's a solid all around catcher in all areas. His arm strength definitely plays at 77 mph and it enables him to be a bit slower on his release and still consistently put up 2.00 range pop times. Woytek is quick behind the plate and showed good range moving to bunts and pop ups. He receives the ball easily and has handled high velocity pitchers before. Offensively, Woytek hits out of a very spread stance and does a good job getting his hips and legs involved for this type of approach. His added strength gives him good pop in his bat and he just got under a couple of balls that could have gone a long way to left field but ended up as F7's. He gets good extension through the ball and could be just blossoming as a hitter. Overall, Woytek is a hard working ball player with a durable body and the tools his position demands. He'll be a good player at the next level. Woytek is also a good student

Wade Woytek is a 2006 catcher from Round Rock, Texas. Wade is the younger brother of RHP/SS Reed Woytek, a top prospect in the 2005 class. The two brothers are completely different types of athletes. Wade has a present strong 5'10", 180 lb. body with classic catcher’s tools and actions. Wade’s arm strength is professional level behind the plate, and he hit 80 mph on one throw to second base. His footwork and release need some quickening, but Wade made several solid game throws in the 2.00 to 2.10 range. He shifts well behind the plate to block balls as well. Wade’s swing is based on his above average strength and could use some work. He hits out of a wide stance with no stride and little hand load with a rotational swing that hits around the ball. Wade showed his raw strength when he crushed a foul home run, but he’s long to the ball and would struggle against upper level pitching at this point. The hand strength and athletic ability are definitely there for Wade to improve with the bat in the future with some adjustments.
