Yoandy Barroso is a 2007 OF with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Miami Springs HS. He has a very good athletic frame and looks stronger than the last time we saw him. He is a prototypical right fielder on defense, with excellent raw arm strength with a long and flowing release. Barrosa is a 7.03 runner who shows good game range in the outfield and can probably slide over to centerfield at the next level as well. Offensively, Barroso hits out of a spread stance and has very good leverage and balance in his swing. He stays quiet with his body but is able to aggressively explode his hands through the ball. Barroso showed easy power and the ball exploded off his bat at 94-95 mph a couple of times. He also did a nice job staying back on some curveballs and hitting through them well. This may have been the best we've seen Barroso with the bat. He has all the tools to be a very high ceiling talent when the skills start to catch up with him. Barosso has signed with South Florida but is the type of prospect the pro scouts will make sure to evaluate this spring.

Yoandy Barroso is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Miami Springs HS, residing in Miami, FL. Barroso has a strong, athletic build on a 6'2" 190 lb. projectable frame. He is pretty lively. Barroso has a nice set of all-around ability and played well enough to be ranked #62 among PG National Top 100 position players. At times he looks like he is better than that, but consistency is lacking. At the plate he hits from a square stance and has quite a quick bat. Barroso can fire his hands and be pretty short to the ball. Actually, he is pretty short on both ends of his swing. The ball jumps off his bat well and he generally takes an aggressive hack. He sprays the ball to all fields and has some power, with more in the future. His bat is pretty lively and if you come upon a game of his, he is probably one of the players any scout would have some interest in watching, waiting to see if he will do something big. He just has a presence about him that suggests he might do something big at any time. Barroso is a good outfielder. He took very good angles to the ball and showed a plus arm. His skills project well in right field, and his bat could play there too. Likely that college, at least junior college is the best thing for his development, but it is conceivable that a scout will take an interest in him and send him out next summer. He probably would figure it out sooner or later. Barroso ran 4.53 home/1st and posted a 6.94 60.

Yoandy Barroso is a 2007 OF from Miami Springs High School in Miami, FL, with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame. Was named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Barroso has an athletic body with very good all-around skills. Defensively he has pro level arm strength (93 mph) from the outfield with easy effort, and showed great online carry and accuracy. He moves to the ball well with athletic actions and good balance. Barroso has high level defensive tools. At the plate he hits from the right side with plus bat speed. He stays balanced through his swing and gets good leverage at the point of contact. Barroso has quick wrists, and he hits through the ball with gap to gap power that will only get better. His bat speed, power potential, and consistent contact make him a top level hitter. Barroso is also a very good runner on the base and in the field with good instincts. He has several plus tools, and will be getting attention from high level colleges and pro scouts next spring. He is also a good student.
