J.R. Holloway is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-5 210 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westwood HS. Big strong physical build, looks the part. Compact quick arm action, 3/4's release point, stays tall in delivery, some effort at release but ball comes out easily. Fastball topped at 92 mph, lots of 91's early, some run and sink when down in the zone, has more velocity in his arm. Primary fastball pitcher at present, inconsistent curveball/change up release point, flashes curveball spin but mostly soft, change up still developing. Can see as mid 90's fastball/slider power reliever. Good athlete, fields his position well. Very good student.

J.R. Holloway is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-5 210 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westwood HS. Extra large frame, good strength with room to get stronger. On line delivery, leans back and gets arm extended, high 3/4's arm slot, uses body well, effort on release but repeats well. Power fastball, warms up at 89 mph, hit 91 mph many times, fastball mostly straight. Good feel for curveball, 11/5 shape with some depth, good curveball velocity. Power arm with more there. Right handed hitter, long wrapped swing, uppercut swing plane, has some bat speed, aggressive game swings. 7.32 runner, showed good agility and athleticism at first base. Excellent student.
