2013 Sunshine West Showcase
Mark Kohn is a 2014 C/1B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Sacramento, CA who attends Laguna Creek. XL frame, big thick build with present strength. Long aggressive swing, raw power potential, already showing present pop with doubles power. Strength oriented swing, solid bat speed, good extension through the baseball, toe tap trigger, pull approach. Quick glove to throwing hand transfer on catch and throw mechanics, quick release doesn't allow him to generate much arm strength on throws yet though. Still a work in progress defensively behind the plate, but if he is forced to switch to his secondary position (1B) he may be able to develop enough power to be an asset at the position.
