Stephan Barrera is a 2014 C/2B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Brazoria, TX who attends Columbia HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength. Very sound defensive catching fundamentals behind the plate, balanced and comfortable, soft hands, flexible lower half, handled 90 mph pitcher with ease, has some arm strength, game throws in drills, 2.07 best pop, next level receiving skills/tools. Right handed hitter, simple swing approach, short to the ball, hits down to contact, has some bat speed and hand quickness, can improve swing plane for more line drive contact. Defense at premium position is noteworthy. Very good student.
