Cory Wells is a 2006 second baseman/third baseman from Texarkana, TX, with an athletic build showing good core strength at 5-10 180 lbs. Defensively, he showed good athletic actions with a high level of flexibility and body control. He has sure hands and a short quick release that produced online throws across the infield at 81 mph. He hits from an open stance with high hands and uses a no load, no stride approach. He has a short compact stroke with very little extension that produces good bat speed. He swings with a level plane and he hit lasers into the outfield in BP. He has the potential to hit with home run power. He is a solid all-around fielder with a simple approach and he is a good follow. Cory is a very good student.
