Scott Schebler is a 2009 catcher/right handed pitcher from Solon, Iowa, with a 5'9", 145 lb. frame. He had solid on line throws to second base with good accuracy and solid pop times. Schebler also showed solid footwork behind the plate on throws and blocking balls. He receives well with soft hands. Offensively, he has an aggressive approach with a quick bat. Schebler has a good load with his hands, and made solid contact. He pulls off some balls on the outer half, but he has the hand-eye coordination, bat control, and bat speed to be a very good hitter. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound with good arm action. He keeps the ball down well and showed good control with both pitches. His fastball topped out at 71 mph, and his 12 to 6 curveball was 61 mph with some bite. Schebler has the tools to be a good hitting catcher with solid defensive skills. He needs to be followed, and is an outstanding student.
