Matthew Ridilla is a 2006 OF from Lake Mary HS in Longwood, FL, with a 6'4", 210 lb. frame. He has a solid, athletic body and has retained his looseness to go with his raw strength. Ridilla is an outstanding runner for his size, with 6.69 60 speed. He showed very good range in the outfield on fly balls and a strong arm from a lower release point. Ridilla hits from a narrow, upright stance with high hands and a downward swing plane. He generates good bat speed and shows gap to gap power. Most of his hard contacts are up the middle of the field. A little more fluidity and extension will help Ridilla continue to develop as a hitter. Overall, Ridilla is a very good athlete with projectable skills and tools. He has a ton of power potential if he can make some adjustments in his approach and learn to use his strength. Ridilla is also a very good student.
