Malcolm Van Buren is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Goose Creek, SC who attends Hanahan. Large frame, tall lean build with room to fill, long limbs. Pitches from a high three quarters arm slot with a long arm action. Pitches downhill, online delivery with good balance, low effort delivery. 12-6 curveball with big rolling depth, showed feel for changeup which is best present secondary pitch. Kept the ball down in the zone well, fastball has some heaviness when located down in the zone, projects well. Good athlete, covers ground in the outfield, good carry on throws from outfield where arm strength stands out as well. Pull approach at the plate, power potential with further strength development, utilizes length of frame well to create leverage power. Good student.
