Juan Carlos Santos is a 2013 RHP with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Arlington Country Day HS. Big strong build, especially in the lower half, fairly physically mature. Drifting leg raise delivery, big pause in extended arm action, fast loose arm when throwing fastball, 3/4's arm slot. Inconsistent fastball velocity, topped out at 91 mph early, lots in the mid-80's as well, fastball mostly straight. Pause in arm action affects curveball, slows arm, rare change up. Has a very good arm and potential power fastball, projects very well with mechanical adjustments. Good student.
