Sam Carter is a 2014 RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Danville, CA who attends Monte Vista HS. Medium athletic build, good upper body strength. Back turn delivery, 3/4's arm slot, deep arm action in back, doesn't get rotated around fully at times and will throw cross body. Fastball up to 86 mph, lots of velocity variance from inning to inning and from stretch/wind up, works glove side corner well, good arm side run at times, tries to pitch to spots. Tends to drop release point on curveball, similar velocity variance, occasional deep sweeping action, developing change up. Flashes quality stuff and location but was not consistent with it. Has the arm to keep improving. Good student.
