Matt Mullinax is a 2016 1B/C with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Calhoun, GA who attends Calhoun HS. Big and strong athletic build. Right handed hitter, wide stance, leg raise trigger is sometimes late getting down in time, back side hitter, tends to shift backwards away from contact, has strength in his swing and the ball is loud coming off the barrel, timed balls better in games, will improve with better direction and extension through contact. 7.54 runner, showed good athleticism around the bag at first base with good footwork, makes accurate throws, has a feel for the position. Also caught, stays balanced well and repeats his fundamentals well, accurate throws. Strength gives him a chance.
