Scott Simpson is a 2016 RHP/C with a 6-0 189 lb. frame from Vero Beach, FL who attends Saint Edwards School. Large frame with a strong build. Right handed pitcher who throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action. Easy, balanced delivery, gets closed at top, loose arm action, finishes online. Fastball topped at 79 mph, getting slight run and downhill plane on the pitch. Early break on his 11/5 curveball, shows a feel for it. Will see velocity jump with incorporation of lower half into delivery. At the plate has a compact swing, keeping hands in, making line drive contact to the middle of the field. Simple approach in the box. Very good student.
