Bryan Omar Melendez Martinez is a 2015 1B/LHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Guayama, PR who attends Academia San Antonio de Guayama. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and nice present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, shows smooth actions with athleticism and nice footwork off the bag. Hands works well with a quick exchange on throws, accurate with carry across. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a rotational delivery. Loose arm action coming throw, generates running and sinking life on fastball, topping 79 mph and a feel for a curveball at 64 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a lower hand set. Short swing path to the ball with a sound contact approach. Pulls hands back at start but come through zone nicely showing ability to hit to all fields, projects well as strength develops. Very good student.
