Tyler Calvert is a 2016 3B/RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Braselton, GA who attends Hebron Christian Academy. Strong athletic frame with long limbs, projects well with room to get even stronger. Right handed hitter, loose extended swing with present bat speed and strength. Hit a HR in game action. Can drift a bit and get too rotational, but has solid hands and natural ability with the barrel. Displayed quiet, light feet in the field and solid range, with better actions to his gloveside. Solid arms strength, throws have some carry. Also pitched, uses a side-step delivery with slight hip turn that creates some deception. Late energy to the plate, with compact arm action to 3/4 arm slot. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, gets some sinking life and armside run. Lots of confidence in a quality change up, maintains good armspeed, will throw it on the first pitch with good sink. Can get around his curveball but flashes ability to throw for strikes. Has good feel for pitching. Solid all around talent who should keep improving. Very good student.
