Jonathan Meaney is a 2016 2B/1B, OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Manchester. Large, athletic build with a lean and projectable frame with room to fill out. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows clean actions to the ball, hands play, longer release from a high slot but accurate with strength and carry across diamond, stays tall at release. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow. Gets to front side early at times, short bat path to the ball and does a nice job of getting barrel through the zone. Gets hips through well, line drive swing plane with life coming off the barrel when squared. Nice bat speed with balance during load and swing. Very good student.
