Alexander De La Cruz is a 2013 SS/2B/RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Strong athletic build, especially in the lower half. 7.06 runner, third base tools and actions defensively, very good arm strength, good release, hands are soft enough. Would be interesting to see him try catching defensively, tools, build and actions are all there. Right handed hitter, high hand stance, quick leg raise trigger, swings down to the ball, short hand path, shows very good strength in hands, good bat speed with line drive gap power, ball comes off the barrel hard. Also pitched, compact arm action, 3/4's release point, mid-80's fastball, mostly straight, good spin at times on 73 mph curveball. Good student.
