Michael Schalasky is a 2015 C/RHP/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Palos Heights, IL who attends Brother Rice HS. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build, projects well. Shows nice tools behind the plate, receives well, quick, clean transfer and release. Short arm action, some present arm strength, accurate 1 hop throws to second base. On the mound he releases from a high three-quarter slot with a short arm action in back. Fastball topped at 82 mph showing arm side run and mixes in both an 11/5 curveball and changeup at 74 mph. Right handed batter with a balanced approach. Hits of back side, shows quick hands and gets good extension. Makes consistent contact, getting barrel through the zone with some line drive contact to pull side. Power projects. Good student. Named to National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect Team.
