Sam Miller is a 2016 RHP with a 6-5 195 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs, high waist and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher, works with a short arm action through the back side coming to a mid three-quarter release point. Shows ball slightly in back but gets on top of ball and uses long levers to create downhill plane on fastball. Occasionally across body at release giving fastball cutting life, fastball topped out at 82 mph and shows late sinking life when down in the zone. Maintains good arm speed on changeup and has a feel for it within the strike zone. Short tilting life on slider, flashed depth to it at 75 mph. Good student.
