Kevin Whitehead is a 2008 C/1B with a 6'3'', 205 lb. frame from Tacoma WA, who attends Franklin Pierce HS. Kevin has a strong well-developed build and showed some good raw hitting tools at the showcase. At the plate Kevin has good balance in his swing producing nice power potential and good bat speed. He hits from both sides of the plate, but best projects from the right side where he looked more comfortable driving the ball. His power potential will be intriguing to college coaches. Behind the plate Kevin has a very quick release with good footwork. While his arm strength isn't mindboggling his pop times were all very solid. Kevin is a solid student that should attract the attention of many mid-level college programs.
