Anthony DeRosa is a 2017 3B/1B, RHP with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Little Silver, NJ who attends Red Bank Catholic. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and a strong, physical build. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, takes short steps to the ball, fields the ball out front and shows some fluidity in actions, picks backhand well, easy arm action with strength across. Also pitched, throws from an over the top arm slot with a short arm action through the back. Shows effort in delivery, creates whip in arm action coming through with fastball up to 81 mph and nice run to arm side. Nice feel for 11-5 curveball at 72 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open stance with a smooth load into his swing. Short path to the ball with a simple and repeatable swing, gets the barrel to the ball well while staying balanced. Gets to front side early occasionally, shows lift at contact with pull approach but has the ability to use the whole field. Good student.
