2016 Mid Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Liam Bendo is a 2017 SS/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Glen Mills, PA who attends Garnet Valley High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athletic actions moving on feet and comes through the ball well, fields out front with soft hands, balanced and shows ability to stick at shortstop with arm strength, short and quick arm action, gets on top of throws and shows solid strength and carry across the diamond. Similar big arm strength from the outfield, 91 mph with best throw, utilizes a crow hop to gain momentum, extra steps at release, gets on top of throws well and shows carry to the bag from a high release point. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a medium hand set in the box. Gets closed moving into contact, occasionally on front side early but shows quickness to hands. Full swing path through the zone, contact approach in the box with occasional lift, stays inside the ball and shows ability to repeat nicely while getting the barrel to the ball. Very good student. Verbal commitment to St. Joseph's. Named to Mid Atlantic Top-Top Prospect List.
