Joey Calcagno is a 2015 OF/2B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends North Atlanta HS. Smaller build, very young look. Right handed hitter, simple hitting approach, early short stride into contact, has some hand quickness, nice short path to the ball, handles the barrel well and squares up, solid overall hitting mechanics, just lacks present strength to drive the ball. Quick first step out of the box and on the bases, 7.27 runner. Easy arm stroke with good footwork and accurate throws, some developing arm strength. Sound fundamental player who just needs strength to improve. Good student.
