Drake Hlavin is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Glenview, IL who attends Glenbrook South. Hlavin has a medium sized frame with a strong build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long extended arm action. Hlavin slings it some and he has some arm speed. He coils up well at balance point and he repeats his delivery well. Hlavin uses his lower half well and he throws strikes. He throws a 10/4 curveball with some sweeping action to it. He also throws a change up at 72 MPH with sink to it. Hlavin's curveball is effective and he throws it for strikes. Defensively he has solid actions and hands at 1B. At the plate, Hlavin starts with a wide stance with big hand movement to start his swing. Outstanding student, named to Top Prospect Team.
