Dennis Walker is a 2007 OF/1B/P with a 6'3'', 180 lb. frame from Chula Vista CA, who attends Eastlake HS. Selected as a Top 10 Prospect at this event. Walker has a plus body that is long, strong, and lean. He is a talented player and has been better each time we have seen him over the last two years. The bat is his number one tool. Walker is a young power hitting prospect. Right now he has line drive power that comes from an easy, flat swing. He is the kind of hitter whose mistakes leave the yard, with carry. His hands work really well. In time he is likely to learn to lift the ball more and start leaving the yard on a regular basis, without sacrificing much average. There are times that he looks like a pretty high draft prospect with the bat. Walker is relaxed at the plate and is very confident in what he can do. He just has the look of a player that expects to hit and hit well. Defensively he has a strong, accurate arm that is well-suited for right field, though his range will play better in left. However, his instincts as a ballplayer will also come into play and he has good instincts. Walker even competed on the mound and showed well. He has a clean arm stroke and has very good feel of the baseball and for pitching. His fastball topped at 83 but it was his curveball that was most impressive. He throws it 72 mph and it has very tight spin and good depth, making it an quality out-type pitch. However, it is the bat that will get Walker his future opportunities, at the college level and beyond. He is a good student and possesses a lot of upside as a player.

Dennis Walker is a 2007 OF/1B with a 6'3'', 180 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA, who attends Eastlake HS. Tall and lanky extra large frame with good projection. Defensively he has solid arm strength from the outfield with a long arm action and good accuracy. He moves to the ball well and shows a good release. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a very open stance. He makes excellent contact putting the ball in play with authority. Walker has a fluid stroke and puts back spin on the ball from gap to gap. He has good bat speed through the zone, and has projectable power. Walker has the ability to make adjustments with his swing and looks like a good hitter for the next level. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot with a long arm action. His fastball topped out at 83 mph, and he mixed in a 70 mph curveball and a 74 mph change. Walker had good arm speed on his change. A must follow, and a very good student as well.

Dennis Walker is a 6'3" 175 pound 2007 first baseman and outfielder from Chula Vista, California who attends Eastlake High School. He has a large frame and a strong athletic build with long limbs and square shoulders. Dennis has solid speed which he showed by running a 7.17 60 and a 4.69 down to first base. He shows good speed in the outfield and covers some ground. At the plate, he stands tall in his stance with an average base and no stride. He has some strength in his swing and some good bat speed. His leverage and good bat speed generate some carry on the ball. He drives the ball to both gaps with authority. Walker really goes after hitters on the mound. He has a full wind up with an even tempo in his delivery. He throws from a low 3/4 arm slot and sets the tone for the game but working quick. He never got deep into counts and got the hitters to swing at his pitches. His fastball topped out at 81 mph with his curveball and change up both 67-70 mph. Dennis is a good all around player who is a good student as well.
