Justin Herrera is a 2008 OF/3B with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Walnut, California, who attends Bishop Amat High School. Herrera has a nice frame with athleticism. Defensively he moves well in the outfield with fluid actions. He reads the balls off the bat. Herrera throws from an over the top arm slot showing solid arm strength at 82 mph. He gets online carry to the bag. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a crouched stance with an average base. He has a line drive swing plane, and he stays balanced throughout. Herrera is aggressive early in the count, and he stays back well on off-speed pitches later in the count. Once on the bases, he is aggressive showing instincts and the ability to take the extra base. Herrera is also a good student.
