Josiah Armstrong is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Steward HS. Lean frame with present strength, solid athleticism. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Moves to ball well in outfield, works a bit uphill in his throws, can work through, follow throws more consistently, arm works well with long, loose arm-action. Also pitches, shows same loose, long arm-action and works to overhand arm slot, creates good downhill plane, could use lower half better in delivery. Fastball up to 78 mph, shows solid command of offering. Also mixes in a low-60s curveball with 11/5 shape and some depth, flashes ability to throw for strikes. Right handed hitter, low hand set, hits off backside, has some strength in body. Pull-oriented approach with an uphill path, shows some hard contact to pullside, can stay up the middle more often. Excellent student.
