Matt Gaskins is a 2016 3B/RHP, 1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Jenks, OK who attends Jenks. Large, athletic build with long limbs and a projectable frame with room to fill out. Primary third baseman, shows nice lateral range, glove plays and shows comfort with the back hand, nice arm strength across that will continue to develop. Also pitched, shows a long but quick arm action in the back and an over the top slot release. Uses lower half well in devliery, gets hips through and stays online well throughout. Gets on top of fastball well which topped at 84 mph with some cutting action and downhill plane. Gets around curveball at times but shows a feel for it at 72 mph. Nice potential on the mound. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and uses a leg lift trigger. Shows a direct path to the ball and keeps hands in through swing. Looks to lift to pull side with feel to hit to the middle of the field. Very good student.
