Brett DeVall is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'4'', 205 lb. frame from Niceville FL, who attends Niceville HS. He has a strong, athletic build with a mature frame. DeVall has a very smooth, low effort delivery and his arm works as easily as any pitcher in the 2008 class. He was flying open early this outing, which he usually doesn't do, and it might have effected his raw stuff a bit. DeVall pitched in the 88-90 mph area and touched 91 mph. His change up is a plus pitch with very good deception and he knows how to use it to change a hitters bat speed. DeVall's curveball has excellent velocity and a hard 2 plane break. DeVall has excellent pitchability and command of all three pitches and we've seen him dial up his velocity higher in the past, although he really doesn’t need to with his command and pitchability. DeVall has all the ingredients you're looking for in a future Big League left hander. He is also a very good student. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American team.

Brett DeVall is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'4'', 205 lb. frame from Niceville FL, who attends Niceville HS. He has a strong, athletic pro profile frame and build. DeVall throws about as easily as you can as a baseball pitcher. His arm action is short and smooth and quick and the ball comes out of his hand easily out in front. DeVall's delivery is balanced and easily paced and very consistent. Not surprisingly, DeVall can paint the strike zone with all three pitches with his delivery and smooth mechanics. His fastball topped out at 92 mph with late life that will jump at hitters and DeVall has always shown a willingness to challenge top hitters with his fastball early in counts. Both his slider and change up actually grade out higher than his fastball. DeVall's slider tops out at 81 mph with nasty late break and excellent depth. His change up is 78 with life and deception. DeVall has three potential plus pitches and plus command , there's not much more you can ask for in a pitching prospect. He's one of the top prospects in the 2008 class and was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. DeVall is also a very good student.

Brett Devall is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Niceville FL, who attends Niceville HS. Brett has an excellent body with an athletic build. Brett pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. The ball comes out of his hand clean and has solid arm speed. Brett pitches exclusively out of the stretch and has good mechanics. Brett knows how to pitch and has a nice pickoff move to first base. Brett has good armside run on his fastball with good late life. Brett throws a curveball with good tight spin and bite on it. Brett has good outfield tools with good arm strength. At the plate, Brett has a tall balanced stance with a good swing path to the ball. Brett has good power potential and has a good swing. Brett was named to the Top Prospect Team and is a very good student.
