Mason Calloway is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Covington, GA who attends Newton HS. Shorter build, lacks strength but has quick twitch athleticism. Left handed hitter, open stance, short quick line drive swing, handles the barrel well, aggressive approach, will hit to all fields, slightly open stance and will pull off the ball at times, uses the opposite field with intent., gets out of the box quickly, lead off type approach. 6.93 runner, has nice footwork and outfield fundamentals on defense, gets full use of his body throwing, fields the ball cleanly and gets rid of it quickly. Also pitched, rotational delivery, compact arm action that hides the ball, threw strikes with a low 70's fastball and short curveball. Nice athlete who understands his tools. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
