Hank Smitherman is a 2015 SS/2B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Goldsboro, NC who attends Charles B Aycock HS. Long thin build with room to fill, projectable body. Hits from a spread stance, deep hand load, good bat speed, gap to gap approach, quick hands with good hand-eye coordination. Compact stroke, low effort swing, good showing in batting practice and in game at-bats. Works through the baseball well, soft hands, arm projects, accurate throws with quick release, good energy to defensive actions. Good student, named to National Underclass Main Event top prospect team.
