Mason Pelio is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-4 212 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Rancho Bernardo HS. Solid athletic build. Fast paced turn and throw delivery, front side tends to be hard and not getting over it consistently, compact arm action, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, tends to get up in the zone due to his front side, best fastballs at 89-90 with nice ground ball inducing sink at the bottom of the zone. Change up was his best off-speed this outing, keeps it down with late fade. Short breaking soft slider can get off barrels. Right handed hitter, power approach at the plate with a long and lifting swing, has strength at contact and can drive the ball when it's squared up. Good student, verbal commitment to Boston College.
