Joey Belviso is a 2008 OF with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends American Heritage HS. He has a medium proportioned live athletic body. Belviso is an outstanding defensive outfielder with tools and instincts. He runs the 60 in 6.45 and not only throws 90 mph from the outfield but has a very quick release with on line carry to his throws. Offensively, Belviso has a smooth, easy looking swing with good flow and rhythm to the ball. His timing and approach at the plate is inconsistent; he will throw an explosive aggressive swing at some pitches and be more passive and long on other pitches that he should be able to drive. The looseness and bat speed are there for Belviso to really come on as a hitter and how he hits will determine his ceiling as the rest of his tools are very good. He is a good student.

Joey Belviso is a 2008 OF with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines FL, who attends American Heritage HS. He has a live, lean athletic build. Belviso was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He ran very well in the 60 at 6.58, which is almost .40 faster than he was at this event last year. Belviso can chase them down in the gaps from centerfield. His arm strength is very good, with accurate online carry, although he could get rid of the ball a bit more quickly. Offensively, Belviso has very good bat speed and a quick, compact swing. He's looking middle half in and can turn on the ball and drive hit hard. He has good rhythm to his swing and is ready to hit. Belviso doesn't use much of his live lower half in his swing now and that's something he can improve on to improve his power potential. Belviso has top level tools and looks like he is improving every time we see him. He is also a good student.

Joey Belviso is a 2008 OF/C with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines FL, who attends American Heritage HS. He has a very live, projectable body and is just beginning to start to fill out and get stronger. Belviso has excellent raw physical tools. He's a plus runner at 6.68 in the 60 and his 88 mph throwing arm from right field was actually down a bit from where we've seen it before. Belviso is a developing power hitter who coils his hips well and takes a full, aggressive swing at the ball. He has very good bat speed and a level line drive swing. He can get busy with his hands during his set up, which will occasionally leave him late to the ball, but has a big upside overall with the bat. National Level Follow. Belviso is also a good student.

Joey Belviso is a 2008 OF from American Heritage HS in Pembroke Pines, FL, with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame. He is a broad shouldered young athlete with developing strength and a very live body. Belviso ran the 60 in 6.93 and was a quick 4.37 down to first base. He has advanced defensive fundamentals and excellent arm strength in the outfield. He threw 88 mph during drills. Coaches will be tempted to put Belviso in right field because of his arm strength but his speed and athleticism look well suited for centerfield for us. Belviso is also an advanced hitter for a sophomore. He has very good load and balance prior to his swing and hits out of a narrow stance with good hip coil. He generates very good bat speed and has the ability to use his hands and make adjustments to his swing. He showed his best power to right centerfield but also showed that he could pull the ball hard and lift it. Belviso hits through the ball with leverage. With normal development and hard work he's going to be a great prospect down the road. He has all the tools. Top Level National Follow!
