Angel Velez is a 2015 C/OF with a 5-8 180 lb. frame from Barranquitas, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Strong compact athletic build, especially in the lower half. 6.96 runner, has good lower half quickness behind the plate, moves through his throws, good arm strength, can soften up hands for a smoother exchange. Right handed hitter, aggressive swing approach, full swing with good extension out front, looks to pull the ball, handled the barrel well in games and made solid line drive contact. Good student.
