Carson Rudd is a 2017 RHP with a 6-5 170 lb. frame from Agoura, CA who attends Oaks Christian HS. Tall and slender young build, extremely projectable physically. Short arm circle in back with a high 3/4's arm slot coming through, creates big angle to the plate. Upper 80's fastball, lots more velocity in there with additional strength, gets some short and late arm side life on his fastball, commands the pitch well to both sides of the plate. Curveball shows big 11/5 depth at times helped by the angle, hard spin with some feel for locating it. Release point not consistent now and North-South . will be an initial challenge in his development. Has some ceiling and should be followed closely. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to Stanford.
