Matthias Carter is a 2016 C/MIF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Lumberton, NC who attends Purnell Swett HS. Compact frame with present strength, has good catcher's build. Displayed quick feet behind the plate, could work through a bit more. Solid transfer and release with a solid arm strength and accurate throws. Showed some athleticism and same accurate arm while working in the infield, soft hands but can be late into position at times. Right hand hitter, starts with higher hand set and high back elbow. Swing has rotational elements, flashed ability to get extension and drive balls pullside. Some feel for the barrel, worked some line drives to the gaps with developing power. Very good student
