Marcus Powell is a 5'11" 160 pound 2007 middle infielder and outfielder from Mahassas, Virginia who attends Osbourn High School. He was one of the quicker players at the event with his 7.17 60 and 4.49 from home to first. In the outfield, he has a very good glove and solid actions. He showed his strong arm off by throwing 84 mph from the outfield and 74 mph across the infield. He has a good release with quick clean tranfers and uses his feet very well. His speed and arm look suited for an outfielder. At the plate, Powell really attacks the ball and can swing the wood. He is a right handed hitter who has very good bat speed and a short path to the ball. He made good solid contact in batting practice as well as in the games and sprayed the ball to all fields. Marcus was named to the Top Prospect game and has very projectable tools.
