Connor Henry is a 2017 IF/C with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Beaumont, TX who attends Monsignor Kelly HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long, lean projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball cleanly and out front, measured tempo to release, gains ground with lower half, full takeaway out of the glove, generates nice arm strength and carry out of the hand, 1.95 best pop time. Hands play well in the infield too, gathers behind the ball well, accuracy on throws across, shows balance while on the move. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Loads hand back at start of swing, full path coming through the zone, weight occasionally gets to front side early during shift. Linear swing path through the zone, shortening stride will help improve timing, works the pull side with comfort and does a nice job of using long levers to creates extension in swing. Very good student.
