Kevin Schuver is a 2007 C/P with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Marion IA, who attends Marion HS. He has a nice athletic frame that has some present strength and the promise for more in the future. Schuver is a solid defensive catcher with quick hands receiving the ball and good balance moving side to side. His arm strength is good and he had a best pop time of 1.98 and was consistent with his throws. Offensively, Schuver has a very good coil and set up to get ready to start his swing. He shows hand quickness in getting the bat started and the ability to handle the bat head. He'll open up a little early occasionally and pull off the ball but makes solid contact to the middle of the field most of the time. He has the strength to reach the gaps and should continue to imrpove as he gets stronger. His game approach was consistent with his BP approach. Schuver has a nice balance of offensive and defensive skills and is a good athlete. He should make a solid receiver at the next level. He is also a good student.
