Matthew Young is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Waco, TX who attends Midway HS. Slender young build, minimal present strength. Clean flowing pitching mechanics, high leg raise, good direction to the plate, extended 3/4's arm slot with a full arm circle, mechanics really work well for him. Fastball topped out at 72 mph, gets good 2-seam life sinking it and will cut it as well. Nice change up and throws it at the right times and gets outs with it. Sweeping curveball drops in for strikes. Really knows how to pitch and change speeds and give different looks. Will get outs now at the high school level with pitchability and next level is up to gaining strength. Good student.
