Carter Loewen is a 2016 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Abbotsford, BC who attends Yale Secondary. Long, lean, lanky frame with athletic looseness throughout and high end physical projection. Pitches with very easy arm action, loose and fluid overall. Hip coil into leg lift, uncoils well and drives forward. Will over rotate front hip a bit at times. Ball is easy out of hand with minimal effort. Fastball worked 82-85 with good downhill plane, some life to arm side on pitch. Slider was secondary pitch, flashing excellent two-plane tilt with good depth. Will get to side of the pitch and turn it flat at times. Athletic off the mound to field position. Hits from upright, slightly open stance with excellent extension through contact and easy projectable power. Strong hands with strength in swing and off barrel. Named to 2015 Sunshine West Top Prospect List. Very good student.
