Billy Cook is a 2017 SS/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Monument, CO who attends Lewis-Palmer HS. Large frame with an athletic build. Shows strong hands with a compact line drive swing path and crouched stance while at the plate. Lays barrel back with some sweeping action to swing path. Timed pitches very well with excellent barrel control, squared up contact throughout batting practice. Worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth, easy actions while ranging to both sides. Smooth arm action with the ability to throw with accuracy from multiple arm slots. Flashed explosive, athletic ability while fielding slow roller. Projects as solid second base prospect at this time. Also ran a 6.78 sixty-yard dash. Good student. Named to 2016 Rocky Mountain Top Prospect List.
