2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Shane Brown is a 2006 3B/C from Winter Park High School in Winter Park, FL, with a 6'0'', 190 lb. frame. He has a presently strong body with a durable frame. Defensively he has nice footwork at third base and showed a nice backhand down the third base line. His arm is a bit short, but he has a good release with an accurate arm. At the plate he hits from the right side with a wide base and slightly open stance. Brown has a balanced swing and gets leverage in his swing at contact. He has a quick bat and the ball jumps on contact. Brown has raw power and strength in his swing and hit hard line drives to the pull side. He also has a good eye and doesn't get himself out. A good student with upside.
