Sam Haley is a 2016 2B/OF/SS with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Nacogdoches, TX who attends Central Heights HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. Good runner, 6.85 in the sixty, shows athleticism in the infield on defense, will get flat footed a bit on balls at him but has quick feet laterally, good exchange and release on his throws with a strong and accurate arm for second base. Left handed hitter, low hand start, pronounced back side collapse together with hand start creates uppercut swing plane, aggressive hitter and creates some bat speed and occasional pull power but approach limits consistency, has the tools to improve with swing adjustments. Athleticism will carry him as he improves his mechanics and skills. Good student.
