Luke Covey is a 2015 OF/MIF, RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Milton, VT who attends Milton. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to add strength. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, charges the ball well, works through it with his lower half, short arm action, stays tall at release, online throws. Throws from an over the top arm slot in the infield, gets on top of the ball well, moves well charging in, gathers well and shows a quick release on throws across. Works from a high three-quarter arm slot on the mound, sound mechanics, filled up the strike zone with fastballs in the 69-71 mph range. Right-handed hitter, starts from an upright stance with a high hand set. Upper half swing, contact approach, line drive plane, shows ability to hit to all fields, hands work well through swing, recognizes off speed and keeps weight back. Very good student.
