JJ Hessel is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Paradise Valley, AZ who attends Brophy College Prep. Big thick build, good present strength. Right handed hitter, spread bent knee stance, tends to drop his back shoulder/side during his swing, opposite field approach but shows good power and some lift to right field, has the strength to improve with adjustments. 7.28 runner, works through the ball well in the outfield, compact over the top release with some developing arm strength. Also pitched, straight leg raise delivery, deep arm action, low elbow 3/4's release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, changes speeds on his curveball and throws it for strikes, challenges hitters.
