2015 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Trevor Lyne is a 2016 OF/IF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Feeding Hills, MA who attends Suffield Academy. Large, athletic build with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable frame with room to fill out. Quick-twitch muscle, ran a 6.86 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, short and quick steps to the ball and works through it nicely, gathers well behind the ball and shows a short and quick arm action with excellent strength and carry that plays in game. Fields the ball out front in the infield, gets on top of throws with accuracy and strength across. Also pitched, short arm action in the back with a three-quarter release. Drop and drive to delivery, lands online and creates downhill plane on fastball up to 83 mph when on top. Changeup shows nice fade to it at 78 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow stance and medium hand set in the box. Shifts weight well through lower half, short path to the ball with a line drive swing plane. Uses hands well, generates some lift at contact with carry to pull side. Line drive approach and has tools that will continue to develop. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
