Anrae Strane Jr is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Conyers, GA who attends Rockdale County HS. Lean, athletic build with some physical projection left in his frame. Ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a pretty clean fielding ability and very good arm strength. Recorded the fastest throws in both the infield and outfield at 92 mph and 89 mph, respectively. Showed off athleticism in the outfield with quick feet. Threw with effort and throws were online with good carry. Graded out best on the mound with a strong three-pitch mix. Pretty loose arm action and works with a good rhythm and tempo; delivery was very smooth. Utilizes lower half well and clears his hips and lower half. Mixed in two different arm slots for some deception in the delivery. Showed solid command of the strike zone with good arm speed. The fastball had life down in the zone with occasional arm side run and sink. The fastball sat from 82-85 mph and topped out at 86 mph. The curveball had 9/4 shape with some sweeping action. The changeup had late life down in the zone and showed good depth while maintaining arm speed on the pitch. Named to the 2017 World Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
